Solid Serve Legal

REMOTE ONLINE (RON)

In June 2021, the Oregon Legislature passed SB 765 which legalized RONs for Oregon notaries permanently.
For more information about this process, visit the Oregon Secretary of State’s website.

Requirements

In order to have the best RON experience, you will need to have some familiarity with technology, access to a computer (PC is recommended vs Mac) with a webcam and microphone.

You’ll also want to use the Chrome or Firefox browser, and have your documents fully filled out (with the exception of the signature and date lines). And ensure that your documents include an appropriate notarial certificate/language. (If your documents don’t have this, you can choose one from the Secretary of State’s website here.)

Your U.S. identity is verified through a 3rd party app, so it’s important that you have a U.S. address and phone number.

All RON sessions are recorded in audio/video and archived for future access, if necessary.

The cost is $25 for the first notarial act and $15 for each additional notarial act during the same session. In addition, there is an $8 fee per signer to cover the identity verification process (charged by a 3rd party).

Questions?

If you still have questions or are ready to schedule a RON signing, please reach out to me via email. The best approach is to send me the document(s) you want notarized so I can ensure they’re fully ready to be signed. Let me know a few dates/times that you’re available for the signing, and I’ll get back to you within a few hours.
